Vanessa Mettam - Founder and CEO

With 20+ years of experience building technical solutions for major corporations and government departments, Vanessa has turned her expertise to one mission: helping everyday Australians grow their own food at home. During the pandemic lockdowns in Western Australia she realised just how fragile our food system is, and launched Grow & Eat It to close that gap.
Her background spans full-stack software, data science and project leadership—but what really drives her is empowering people to become more self-sufficient and connected to their food.

We’re looking for passionate co-founders or early-team members who share our vision: home-food-growing made accessible, even in small spaces. If one (or more) of these is you, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Mobile app developer (iOS/Android) or AI / integration engineer

  • UI/UX designer or growth-marketing lead

That’s why we’re building a smart app tailored to Australian climates and home-gardens—so you can get reminders, recommendations, and practical guidance without guesswork.
